We are pleased to be the primary host of School SOS this year - a Nomadic Not-For-Profit Critical Design School that seeks to challenge modes of delivering Higher Education in the UK.

SOS-22 is a free 4 week critical designer development programme based in London, UK, hosted by some of the country’s most loved cultural institutions.  Run from the 1st of August, 12 participants will develop group and individual projects based on their own politically and socially active design methodologies.

Hosted by the Koppel Project, the South London Gallery (SLG), and in partnership with the Design Museum, participants will work alongside a series of public events and lectures from practitioners at the cutting edge of design and academia.

The public lecture series is free for SOS participants. This years lineup includes: Prof. Helen Hester (author of Xenofeminism), Bellingcat (Nick Waters), Forensic Architecture and Dr John Walter (Author of Shonky: Aesthetics of Awkwardness). In addition, SOS-22 provides weekly technical workshops in digital media making software, including; 3D Scanning, 3D Animation and Game Engines.

All participants will then have the chance to publicise their work and research at a WIP Show (at the Koppel Project) and a final three week exhibition at the South London Gallery (SLG).

SOS-22 is supported using public funding by Arts Council England.
