Located behind our studios at Elephant & Castle, this new events and exhibition space will extend the ethos of our recent gallery projects to enable flexible, artist-led experimentation.

Prioritising projects by KOPPEL resident artists, while also welcoming external collaborations, ANNEX supports adaptable formats: from pop-up installations and discursive events to micro-commissions. Highlight is on process over permanence, offering in-kind space as well as affordable and flexible access models. This includes sharing tools across communities and testing unfinished ideas.

The programme aims to cultivate a dynamic interplay between the artists working in the studios and an evolving network of external collaborators. This new chapter presents an opportunity to reimagine our approach to programming, addressing the challenges of past relocations The Koppel Project has faced and the absence of free and affordable exhibition spaces in London.

The programme at ANNEX will reflect a commitment to collaborative processes and expansive thinking. Exhibition-making is envisioned not as a static presentation but as a fluid, narrative environment.
