Moderated by curator and art adviser Lisa Anderson, moving away from the fixed narrative around Blackness, the panel will discuss the intersectionality and multi-dimensionality of Blackness within an interconnected Trans-Atlantic Black universe, asking: what does it mean to be Black at this specific time in history? Jumoke Sanwo is curator and cultural producer, based in Lagos, Nigeria, she is the founder of Revolving Art Incubator (RAI) an alternative art space for trans-disciplinary engagement and contemporary art discourse. Hannah Uzor is a Zambian-British artist living and working in the UK. Her research-based practice is driven by her interest in history and public memory, she explores themes related to race and erasure and the complexities of the black identity and experience in her practice. Hanou Amendah is an art and culture writer. She is the founder and editor of Obatalamag, an online magazine dedicated to the arts and cultures of Africa and its diaspora. Her main interest lies at the intersection of epistemological violence and Blackness.
