School SOS

School SOS is a Nomadic Not-For-Profit Critical Design School that seeks to challenge modes of delivering Higher Education in the UK. During its 3 week stay at The Koppel Project from the 13th September, SOS welcomes a limited number of residents to participate in its free short courses in digital media making. The Koppel Project residents will also have limited access to the SOS lecture series on sustainable and ethical practice for artists and designers, joined by Turner Prize winners Assemble and nominated practice Forensic Architecture

In the 'Digital Tech Workshop' series, Nick will introduce participants to the use of 3D animation softwares for research purposes. Through a series of mini-investigative exercises participants will grapple with the 3D research workflows and methodologies pioneered by design research practices. By the end of the series participants will understand the basics of Blender and be able to apply 3D dimensional investigative methodologies to their own research practice.
