Reality with a slight change, 2025, which is the final work in a trilogy of performances about the performance of the self, is a reflection on the experience of explaining yourself, of losing yourself in your imagination and being dragged back down to reality.
Sam Kan is an artist, writer and curator, working primarily with performance and text. She likes to think about the construction of the self and the body through storytelling, non-linear narratives, language and fantasy. She also wonders about the dark slippery gaps in between. Sam holds an MA in History of Art from The Courtauld and is currently Assistant Curator for the inaugural SXSW London Festival.
This performance is part of the public programme of Bracing should always “lean into opening” which presents a varied selection of recent work by first-year MA and MFA students in Fine Art Media at the Slade School of Fine Art.
ANNEX is a new gallery and exhibition space on 1 Tiverton St SE1 6N just behind our studios at KOPPEL Heights in Elephant & Castle.
