INNER RIPPLE – a public, one-day event (free entry) on 13 September, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

This solo exhibition features acclaimed abstract artist Liu Gang, a pioneer of Chinese abstract painting and a respected professor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, where he also serves as Dean of the International School. With a decades-long career, Liu has continually pushed the boundaries of materiality and pictorial language.

For over thirty years, Liu has explored the relationship between what art is made of and what it portrays. Working with everything from traditional xuan paper and copper wire to rich mineral pigments and even digital imagery , he constantly experiments with new media. His layered compositions evoke memory, time, and transformation, blending Eastern brushwork with contemporary artistic inquiry . In other words, expect paintings that carry a deep sense of history and innovation all at once , a conversation between past and future on the canvas.

But INNER RIPPLE isn’t just an art display, it’s part of a bold new initiative by Synonym Lab to turn exhibitions into experiments in innovation. Think of it as a creative laboratory where art meets technology. In fact, INNER RIPPLE is the first in a series of experimental collaborations

Aimed at discovering new possibilities where digital interaction, technological collaboration, and artistic practice intersect . Synonym Lab is pioneering unique curatorial methods that mix technical systems with creative exploration . At Synonym Lab, we believe that when technology meets creativity, it opens the door to powerful new modes of human expression.
