Antonia Luxem: Dream Incubation Chamber, Volume 2 – performance with Tom Foskett-Barnes & Aaron Hannah Shakespeare

The Dream Incubation Chamber is a performance-based dream laboratory that inspires itself from ancient incubation practices to explore how falling, heartbreak, and psychic pain can be transformed into new realities through ritual, sound, and sleep-inspired dramaturgy. It stages the chamber as a contemporary sacred precinct where audiences and collaborators enter a suspended time – where reality is bent – to experiment with other modes of consciousness, and rehearse ways of remoulding memory and experience into something new.

Through DIC we are invited into the depths of our vulnerabilities as a means to build empathy. We introspect in our capacity to shift our own reality through how we sleep, share and attend to our own inner worlds. It is a place of radical attention and intention, and a space of initiation.

Volume 2: The Bridge to Chimaeras focuses on falling and transformation through a shapeshifting figure’s journey through cycles of collapse, ecstatic retreat, disappearance and metamorphosis.

In the dream incubation chamber, we’re allowed to fall, to be vulnerable. We dare to fall. And by having fallen, we create a space of deep empathy.

Tom Foskett-Barnes is a musician working in Berlin and London, across film, theatre and live performance.

Aaron Hannah Shakespeare is an actor, model and dancer. They are currently re-engaging with live and on-screen performance, alongside retraining in ballet and contemporary dance.
