THE HIVE | OPEN STUDIOS

Winter Edition

29 November – 1 December 2018

The Koppel Project Hive

The Koppel Project Hive is happy to announce its’ Winter Edition of Open Studios. We will be hosting a Christmas themed market where artists have been invited to sell small pieces as well as performances and featured guests.

The Hive Open Studios is an invitation to discover the working environment of a diverse selection of emerging and established London-based artists. Twice a year, The Hive’s artists display their works in progress and discuss them with curators, collectors, and the public.

The main aim of the open studios is to showcase the vibrancy of The Hive community artists. Working in large communal spaces, this event allows artists to illustrate their individual practices and vision and shows how they fit into the collective force of the community. Throughout the course of the weekend, visitors can see artists at work, take part in demonstrations and workshops, talks.

STUDIOS

The Koppel Project Hive supports 100 artists’ studios in the heart of the City of London. Artists share large communal studios comprised of 15m2 units, and also have use of attached project spaces and shared communal areas. The cost of each studio unit includes utilities, security, and furniture. The studios have very large windows providing good natural light, but limited ventilation. For this reason, any artistic practices using toxic products are strictly forbidden.

Access to the building is from 8am–8pm Monday-Friday, 10am–6pm Saturday, and 10am – 4pm Sunday. There is a full-time security guard at the front desk.

Please contact ellen@thekoppelproject.com for enquiries and further information.

THE A5 SHOW

Group Exhibition

Curated by Notting Hill Genesis

29 November – 21 December 2018

The Koppel Project Hive

The Koppel Project is pleased to host The A5 Show curated by Notting Hill Genesis, formally Notting Hill Housing.

Notting Hill Genesis (NHG) works in the community, providing homes for lower-income households. They are one of the largest housing associations in London and the south-east, providing homes for around 170,000 people in some 55,000 properties across the capital and a further 9,000 in the home counties and East Anglia.

For The A5 Show, creative residents and staff have been invited to have their work displayed alongside professional artists at the first-ever Notting Hill Genesis art show this year. Run by the Notting Hill Genesis tenancy support network, the exhibition will be hosted at The Koppel Project Hive Gallery. Each artwork will be available for purchase at £50.00 with the artists name remained anonymous. The proceeds of the sales and various scheduled events will go towards supporting their most vulnerable residents via the Tenant Hardship Fund.
