THE KOPPEL PROJECT CAMPUS
12-48 Southampton Row, London, WC1B 4AP
Are you an artist, maker, or creative (aspiring or established) looking for a flexible workspace that is more than just a studio?
The Koppel Project is opening a cross-disciplinary educational program in the Old Central Saint Martins Campus in Holborn. We hope to keep learning and community at the heart of what used to be a historic arts institution.
Campus functions like a stripped-back university, with categorized departments of allocated work/studio space, communal areas, public exhibition space, and library resources. Unlike a regular university, Campus runs on the principle that education should be self-curated, interdisciplinary, and structured to fit into our lives rather than taking them over.
Classes and courses at Campus are put on by a rotating group of resident tutors, who will design unique workshops to share their skills and experience. Every learner at Campus has the opportunity to curate their own course of study from the wide variety of options available, moving through departments beyond their own field of work, broadening their perspective, making new contacts, and deepening their understanding of their own practice in the process.
Campus is a place for creative freelancers, practicing artists, working makers, and members of local artistic communities, as well as the general public.
It is a place for learning and teaching, sharing and critiquing, networking and supporting.
It is a place where everyone can have the time and space to integrate continuous education into their lives and their work.
We’re looking for people who are excited about helping us build a disruptive educational programme. We want people who are interested in the value of skill sharing, collaboration, and interdisciplinary learning. If you believe in getting stuck in and bringing everything you’ve got to the communal table, and are open to new ways of working, thinking, learning, and making, then we’d love to have you on board.
